In View of Her
In View of Her presents Northern Illinois artist Abigail Pixler’s fascination with the feminine form. Through rich hues and tender transitions of light across skin, she captures curves and contours and offers a perspective both reverent and introspective. Each composition begins as abstract shapes of color that gradually converge into “her” — a presence at once intimate and enigmatic.
Driven by an obsession with beauty, Pixler paints as an act of devotion and discovery. In View of Her asks us to look beyond the surface and sit with beauty long enough for it to unfold. These paintings invite viewers to consider what it truly means to behold beauty. Is it something to consume at a glance, or something to contemplate, to understand, to feel?

Abigail Pixler is an artist from Northern Illinois. Her specialty and passion is found within portrait and human figure work, with a focus on the feminine. Her focus on the feminine comes from her appreciation, admiration, and delight in the female form. Females have an enchanting way about them—their curves, their delicate features, the softness that appears from light playing on their skin—their overall hypnotic beauty. This is what drives her work and has, through time, formed the blurred realist aesthetic that her pieces carry with them.
