Current calls for art are detailed below. Please note that all information must be included in the submission form, including high-resolution images of work (at least 300 DPI) and a brief artist statement (maximum length of 300 words). Submission fees must also be paid at time of submission.
We’re inviting local artists, crafters, and makers to apply for our Holiday Market Series, a festive and community-focused celebration of handmade and original works. This is a wonderful opportunity to share your creativity during the busiest shopping season of the year — with events drawing art lovers, gift buyers, and holiday revelers alike.
What We’re Looking For:
We're curating a diverse and high-quality collection of handmade, original, and artist-designed goods that make perfect holiday gifts. This includes but is not limited to:
Fine art (prints, paintings, photography, sculpture)
Handcrafted goods (ceramics, textiles, woodwork, metalwork)
Holiday-themed items (ornaments, cards, décor)
Zines, comics, and other artist-made publications

Holiday Market

NEW Gallery is seeking art inspired by the darkness around us for the upcoming Dark Art, Bounty, and Decay exhibition. From harvest to Halloween, any work depicting Autumn and the change of seasons, or darkness as a metaphor.

Darkness: A Call for Dark Art, Bounty, and Decay

We are looking for artists with prints that are made and ready to sell! Our team travels to art festivals across Chicagoland year-round and can sell your artwork at our booth or table, making it available to more customers. Festivals and coop sales include the Andersonville Galleria, West Loop Art Festival, West Fest, Wells Street Art Festival, Mayfest, and more. Artists who submit are also eligible to be part of our Featured Artists group, with an opportunity for inclusion in a group show or solo show.

All work must be prepackaged with cardboard support and a vinyl sleeve. If work is received without it, there will be a packaging fee.
Call for prints

We are accepting proposals for our Monthly Installation Artist Residency space, AKA miar. Open to any artist, medium, or discipline, we are seeking artists to create site-specific installations in our space and large scale sculptural installations to activate our gallery's window display. Selected artists will have their work on view for a month, including during the opening reception to meet other artists in our community. There will also be opportunities for other community engagement events such as an artist talk, radio show, and a closing reception. Artwork will be visible to passers-by on the street and will be featured on our websites and social media.
