Alana Palomo’s work is rooted in memory, place, and the emotional landscapes shaped by migration. Through painting, mixed media, and installation, they explore what it means to carry home within the body, and how objects, textures, and everyday materials hold stories of resilience, loss, joy, and transformation.

Having grown up and lived between El Salvador, Florence, and the United States, Palomo developed a deep awareness of how identity is constructed through fragments such as language, food, landscapes, and personal rituals. They work with materials including wood, clay, newspaper, plastic, fabric, and natural elements to evoke this layered experience. These materials are intentionally imperfect, referencing both fragility and endurance.

Whether through small-scale works or immersive installations, they aim to create environments that invite viewers to reflect on their own histories, connections to place, and the emotional weight of belonging.
