Skyye Kimmons is a Chicago based photographer and creative director whose practice moves between fine art, fashion editorial, portraiture, and cinematic storytelling. A third generation photographer, Kimmons uses constructed scenes, personal objects, and the urban landscape to explore identity, memory, intimacy, grief, and transformation. His work has appeared in more than 200 national and international publications and has been presented within fashion, gallery, and cultural spaces. His photograph Between Departures, from the ongoing series For the Chicago Kid, memorializes his late partner, and considers how love, absence, and the city of Chicago become inseparable from our understanding of home.
