From the artist: "Why do humans adorn ourselves with tattoos? Fascinated by the history of tattooing and the designs we choose to engrave in our skin forever, I create untraditional takes on American traditional tattoos. My work is an ode to subjects missing in traditional designs, an exploration of emotions, movement, and play. I work across drawing, watercolor, relief printing, and risography, reimagining the tattoos we use to protect, remember, and reclaim our bodies across the centuries."
