I make portals to an unspeakable inner world.

The portals are made from various materials: paint, fiber, gel medium.

To build the portal, I layer the medium twice a day, for multiple weeks, with a single brush.

I make sentinels for every portal.

The sentinels are made from steel.

To build the sentinel, I feed steel rods into grit and fire, over and over, until they bend like water and puncture skin.

My labor is a prayer for ferocious calm.
