Discovery Through Process and Intuition

Liz Bail is drawn to saturated, luminous color and the way colors interact, overlap, and shift across surfaces. For her upcoming solo exhibition, Discovery Through Process and Intuition, the artist will display a series of work exploring the visual rhythms and tensions caused by successively layering pigments onto a single surface.

Featuring dye on satin and paint on canvas, the works in Discovery Through Process and Intuition exist in a liminal space balancing structure and spontaneity, intention and accident, control and discovery. Driven by process, Bail creates abstract work that is uniquely atmospheric, expressive, and personal.

Discovery Through Process and Intuition will open with a public reception at Art City (1400 N Halsted St. Chicago, IL) on Friday, November 13, 2026 at 5-9pm.

Liz Bail is a visual artist based in Chicago, IL. She has exhibited her work in the Chicago area as well as the surrounding suburbs. Liz earned her MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in painting and drawing spring 2025.
