Catherine Economopoulos' “Ni Santa, Ni Puta (Solo Fantasma)” excavates the female body in texture and light. The depicted figure is both a self-portrait and an archetypal icon, influenced by formal venerative imagery in the Orthodox Church. The display format mimics a curtain, giving the impression of a mutable impression of the female form, or perhaps even an invitation to the viewer to pass through and beyond her, brushing by the gap in the beads.
