Acrylic on canvas, 30x40"
From the artist: "I have been an artist all of my life. I live in Northbrook, IL, a town just north of Chicago. I am a father of six amazing and very creative kids - now all adults. My wife, Karie, is an award-winning photojournalist. For me, art is rhythm, color, and beauty. It is never timid. It should grab you. Complimentary colors should vibrate. You should be drawn in by graceful lines and "s" curves. It should feel like almost a musical experience. I love painting in acrylics - the boldness of the colors and the speed with which an artist needs to get the colors mixed onto the canvas. My work is sometimes surrealism, sometimes modern cubism. I was recently featured in the magazine The Miserere Review. My newest work is focusing on the cosmos, sacred geometry, and time. My submitted piece, “The Cosmic Giraffe” explores all three, while also being an homage to Dali. Also, I am a mural artist. With my son Gerry, we collaborate on large scale public works of art. The mural we painted in 2023 in Northbrook we recently featured during a montage in the new movie “Bob’s Best Friends.” In addition to being an artist, I am bass player in the rocking bands Counterpoint and Probable Cause, and a guitar player in the trio The Luc project that features my singing daughters Annie and Marie. I am a cycling instructor, and a former football coach. Always remember to "Put a Little Art in Your Life, You'll Feel Better!""
