I’m a visual artist and mouth painter with over 18 years of experience. I work primarily in mixed media painting, but my practice also includes digital painting and multimedia. I studied studio art in college, but I sustained a spinal cord injury that left me paralyzed from the neck down, and so after my injury, I adapted by teaching myself to paint by holding brushes in my mouth. Though I began in traditional modes, I consider myself largely self-taught due to the unique way I had to re-learn painting and develop my own adaptive technique.
