In my art practice, I examine the commercial architecture that shapes cities in the South and Midwest. I am drawn to diners, gas stations, motels, and other sites that hold cultural significance yet are often overlooked. Using relief printing, screen printing, and disposable-camera photography, I document and reimagine these places through tactile processes that reflect both the labor embedded in them and their impermanence in a rapidly changing city. My work is a meditation on memory, impermanence, and the ways built environments sustain communities. Through careful mark-making and deliberate linework, I aim to preserve these moments, elevating ordinary spaces to objects of reverence and inviting viewers to consider the people, stories, and histories they hold.
