In this installation, trees symbolize immanent divinity (divinity WITHIN the material world) and sunlight symbolizes transcendent divinity (divinity BEYOND the material world). The organic, animated shapes, therefore, are the threshold between the divine and the material—what can and can’t be perceived.

When I project these images, I remove the material, the physical source. Creating a projection of a projection—recreating light with light. The installation itself is divinity distilled. It is an act of transcendence, a small ritual. The installation brings into question layers of reality—if you could see beyond the material world, what would you see?

This speaks to my larger body of work, which explores the sublime, sacred geometry, and the divinity of nature.
