I have a deep craving. I crave the sweet, smooth transition of my imagined mind onto the paper. As long as I have a tool, a surface and at least half of a mind, my art flows out of the lagoon that one might describe as my art. All in a slightly chaotic mess of material that lies beneath the layers and marks of my work. Works that mainly stick with materials 2-D in nature, components that build themselves out of classic mark-making materials such as ink, pastel, charcoal, collage and printmaking methods. Though if I were talking to someone with a simpler perspective on what they qualify as art, I would describe myself as a comix artist truther to my core. When it comes to explanations beyond just the materials, nothing is ever still. My marks are always made with passion and purpose. Coming together to create fluid movements, vivid colours, and graphic linework that sucks you into a world that combines the flirtatious and fun, with complexities lying beneath the layers/marks. Often dealing with themes of personal identity, love, heartbreak, and the documentation of the whirlwind experience that has been the first twenty years of my life.
